A Guide to Envelopes

  • Envelopes With Windows

A small section is removed from the front of these envelopes to create a sort of window. These windows are covered with a clear film of plastic to protect the contents. The window is cut in such a way that the address and other details printed on the document inside can be viewed without any difficulty. This reduces the need to reprint or write down the same details on the envelope.

  • Manila Envelopes

Manila paper is one of the most commonly used types of paper for making envelopes. Manila is a traditional material and it has a nice natural texture with a brownish color. It is also quite cheap and easily available.

  • Board Backed Envelopes

These envelopes have a rigid board within it. The rigidness is usually due a sheet of cardboard inside. These envelopes are good at protecting the important documents inside. The board prevents the envelopes from being folded on their own while they are being transported. These envelopes are ideally used when there is a need to send photographs over the mail.

  • Padded Envelopes

Some items need to have more protection while they are being sent by the mail. These items are often valuable so they need to be prevented from being damaged while being transported. A standard envelope cannot provide the necessary protection to these items. Padded envelopes have a padding which provides the requisite protection to the items inside. These envelopes are generally used when transporting bulky items or delicate ones like CDs and DVDs. Some padded envelopes are also capable of providing protection against the elements of weather.

  • Recycled Envelopes

Recycled envelopes are made using recycled paper. These envelopes are safer for the environment as they are recycled. Different grades of recycled envelopes are available which are categorized according to the amount of recycled paper used in making them. These recycled envelopes will help your company promote an environmentally friendly theme about your business. Additionally, these envelopes are becoming more and more common.

Sizes of Envelopes

The size of the envelopes is another important aspect that needs to be taken into consideration while choosing envelopes for use by your company. The size of the envelopes will affect the amount of money that you will have to pay for the mail services. Additionally, different documents will require different envelope sizes for safe transportation. There is an incredible variety of sizes available for envelopes. Most of the sizes have been standardized for use across the world.
